Puppies are very cute. Unfortunately they grow up fast. Take advantage of a new puppy with lots of photos. They move fast so raising your ISO setting and opening up your aperture (f stop, the lower the number) can help. The trade off of a large aperture can mean a shorter depth of field. A shorter depth of field means a smaller area of focus. Make sure to be on auto focus and aim for the eyes. It also brings the focus only to the subject. This photo has a blurred background on three sides with may be an advantage to an art director to add their text in an article.
